and on to an embankment. 20 were injured including the dreyer. fortunately none of those injuries were serious. police say the driver was going too fast around the curve. the students from a school in missouri were headed to an annual camping trip the boys were on another bus. >> aaron hernandez is due in court today. hernandez faces first degree murder charges in the shooting death of oden loud. they allowed prosecutors more time to present evidence to a grand jury. hernandez has pleaded not guilty and is held in jail without bail. >> i did it for the love of my country. that is what bradley manning has said in a written letter to president obama as he asks for a pardon. he was sentenced yesterday to 35 years. will be dishonorably discharged for leaking thousands of documents to the west side wikileaks.

a billion dollars has been spent so far and they say they are diverting another $600 million from other areas just to fight these fires. maria molina has more for us now. good morning maria. >> good morning. 51 major wildfires across parts of the west. including states like california, parts of oregon and also the state of montana. out here we are not looking at good news. we have more dry conditions more low humidity and strong winds in the forecast out here. i want to start out with the drought conditions. we are experiencing severe to extreme drought in so many of these states pretty much across the entire western u.s. that is what provide the fuel for the wildfires to continue to burn outside of sections of nevada and even into parts of utah. we are look fire weather watches up in montana and state of washington due to low humidity and strong winds in excess of 30 miles per hour along with warm

should the merger with u.s. airways fall through. that is according to the general council who confirmed that detail to the news. the justice department moved last week to block this airline message saying it reduces competition and harms consumers in the end with higher ticket prices. americans banked on the merger for its ticket out of bankruptcy. it has spent get this half a million dollars a day in legal bills and the cost to fight the government to get this merger to go through. it is only going to add to that tab. here is another growing tab, the cost to own a car. bank rates say the national average is $3,200 a year that includes gas, insurance, taxes and repairs. it is the most expensive in georgia. more than $4,200 that is because cities like atlanta lack public transportation and also georgia has the highest automobile taxes in the entire u.s.
